Risk Management Verification
Texas State University is mandated by the state of Texas to provide risk management training to all registered student organizations. This training is a requirement for organizations to be recognized by the university.
The Dean of Students Office-Fraternity and Sorority Life (DOS-FSL) and Student Involvement have an agreement and partnership that allows DOS-FSL staff members to hold a risk management training designed for fraternities and sororities. This individual training will serve as a replacement to the risk management trainings provided by the Student Organizations Council.
Training and Verification
Each fall the DOS-FSL staff hold a risk management training that is tailored specifically to the experiences and needs of the fraternity and sorority community at TXST. Chapter Presidents, Vice Presidents, New Member Educators, Social Chairs, and Risk Management Chairs are all required to attend this training.
Officers are then given a risk management training presentation that must present to the chapter members by Oct. 16th. Once the chapter training has been completed, officers must complete the verification form and submit an attendance sheet with an advisor's signature.
Organizations are not permitted to have any events with alcohol until this chapter risk management training has been completed.
