Community Service & Philanthropy
Community Service and Philanthropy are values shared by all of the chapters on our campus. The Community Service and Philanthropy Directors of the FSL Programming Board plan events to showcase the efforts of our members and improve both our campus and San Marcos communities. The directors are also a source for organizations to use to find out about philanthropic opportunities in the community.
In Spring 2019, the FSL Programming Board hosted the first annual Philanthropy Week. Our chapters came together for a week of events to highlight and support one another's causes. Community members also participated in the RHA's Big Pink Volleyball tournament!
In Fall 2020, the FSL Programming Board hosted the virtual Philanthropy Week to highlight philanthropic efforts of the entire Fraternity and Sorority Community and raised $150 each for San Marcos "School Fuel" and Hays County Food Bank. The FSL Programming Board partnered with EVO Springtown Event to donate $4,000 for Leadership San Marcos & The San Marcos Animal Shelter.
In Fall 2021 the FSL Programming Board hosted Philanthropy Week, putting on daily events to raise money for San Marco “School Fuel”. The FSL programming Board was able to raise $2000 along with an abundance of food for the charity.
